This policy explains how Ash Steel Voice Over Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14789736), with its registered office at Office 1, The Warehouse, Anchor Quay, Penryn, Cornwall, United Kingdom, TR10 8GZ, collects and uses information when you visit ashsteel.com (the “Website”) or get in touch about voiceover work. If you have any questions, email info@ashsteel.com.
Information you provide to us
If you contact us by email (info@ashsteel.com) or via one of the marketplace platforms we’re listed on, we’ll have whatever information you choose to share — typically your name, email address, and the details of your enquiry or project. We use this only to respond to you and, if we work together, to deliver the voiceover services you’ve asked for.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use it — for example, which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and which country or device they’re browsing from. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to do this, and collects information such as your IP address (in truncated/anonymised form), browser and device type, and general location.
This data is aggregated and doesn’t identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by adjusting your browser’s cookie settings to block third-party cookies.
Our web host also automatically logs standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and troubleshooting purposes, as most hosting providers do.
How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and discuss potential projects
- To deliver voiceover services if we agree to work together
- To understand and improve how the Website is used, via aggregated analytics
- To meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations (for example, invoicing records)
We don’t use your information for marketing emails or newsletters, and we don’t sell or rent your information to anyone.
Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
We rely on the following legal bases: legitimate interests (responding to your enquiries, keeping the Website running and secure), consent (for non-essential analytics cookies, where required), and performance of a contract (if you commission voiceover work from us).
Sharing your information
We don’t share your personal information with third parties except where necessary to run the Website and our business — for example, with Google (Analytics) as described above, or our web hosting provider. We may also disclose information if required by law. We don’t sell your data.
Links to other sites
This site links out to platforms we’re active on, including LinkedIn, YouTube, Source Connect, Voice123, and Voices.com. If you follow one of these links, you’ll be subject to that platform’s own privacy policy, not this one.
Data retention
We keep enquiry and project correspondence for as long as needed to deliver the service and meet legal/accounting requirements (typically up to 6 years for financial records, in line with UK company record-keeping rules), then delete it. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics according to its own retention settings.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the information we hold, including using a reputable hosting provider and keeping the Website’s software up to date. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
This Website is not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the information we hold about you; ask us to correct or delete it; restrict or object to its use; request a copy in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time (for example, to analytics cookies). To exercise any of these rights, email info@ashsteel.com.
If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled your information, you have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
International transfers
Google Analytics may process data on servers outside the UK/EEA. Google provides its own safeguards for these transfers (such as Standard Contractual Clauses); see Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Website or how we handle information. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
